Terms of Service

1. The Service

Trott lets you save videos, reels, posts and articles that you share to it and turns them into searchable notes, places and to-dos that you can search, organise and ask questions about.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian agree on your behalf.
• You are responsible for the information you give us, for keeping your sign-in details secure, and for all activity under your account.
• Please tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission.

3. Plans, subscriptions and billing

• Trott has a Free plan and paid Plus and Pro plans, billed monthly or yearly. Current plans, prices and allowances are on our Pricing page.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time. On the web, use "Manage billing" in the web app (the customer portal). On iPhone or Android, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. After cancelling, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
• We may change prices or plans. We will give you notice before a change applies to your subscription, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
• Introductory offers, where available, apply once per eligible first-time subscriber and move to the regular price afterwards.
• Prices may not include taxes. Taxes that apply to your purchase are shown at checkout.
• Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.

4. Payment processing

• Web purchases: orders placed on the web are processed by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record for those orders. Dodo Payments collects payment and applicable taxes and issues receipts. Dodo Payments' own buyer terms and privacy policy also apply to your purchase.
• Phone purchases: purchases made in the iOS or Android app are processed by Apple or Google under their terms.

5. Your content

• You keep ownership of the links, videos, posts, articles, notes and other content you save to Trott ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of it.
• You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process Your Content, only as needed to run the Service for you, such as reading what you save, creating notes, places and to-dos, powering search and answering your questions.
• Only save content that you have the right to access and use. Content you save remains subject to the rights of its original creators and the platforms it comes from.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• save or share content you do not have the right to access, or that is unlawful;
• use the Service to infringe anyone's rights, or to harass, defraud or harm others;
• attempt to break, overload, probe or bypass the security, limits or allowances of the Service;
• use automated means to abuse the Service, or resell or share your account in a way that avoids paying for the Service;
• misuse the Service in any way that could damage it or other users' use of it.

We may limit or suspend access if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken.

7. Changes to the Service

We keep improving Trott. We may add, change or remove features, and we may change allowances for the Free plan. If we make a material change to something you have paid for, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

8. Termination

• You can stop using Trott and delete your account at any time. See our data deletion page.
• We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we end a paid subscription without fault on your part, we will refund the unused part of the period you paid for.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". The notes, places, to-dos and answers Trott produces are generated automatically and may be incomplete or wrong, so please check anything important before relying on it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not give any warranty, express or implied, including about fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or that the Service will be error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hattimatim Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date, and for significant changes we will give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
